Device doesnt exist on the network SCCM 2012 Client Push

Howdy,

You may see errors as below when you are trying to push the client from SCCM 2012 Console that says “The device “hostname” doesn’t not exist on the network. Giving up” and then you would see another error suggesting the same problem for the same client but with its IP rather hostname in the CCM log on the SCCM Server



What is the reason behind this? Well, it is easy. I was pushing the client to Windows 7 OS and if you are not aware of it, the firewall was blocking the connectivity. All I had to do was to open connection in the firewall by going to advanced firewall settings “INBOUND” for domain profile , if you are talking about particular port then, you would have to refer the article here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682180.aspx
